Midway Swiss Days

I have heard the stories...but to experience Midway, Utah's Swiss Days is something else!  Thank you to everyone who stopped by my booth to shop, visit, and just look around.  I appreciate ALL of your kind words and compliments and look forward to see you all again next year!

Midway is such a sweet little town in the heart of the beautiful Heber Valley.  I wish I would have taken some photos of my surroundings while we were there. (note for next year) ;)  The people were friendly and welcoming and Lynn and I found our favorite little restaurant called Cafe Galleria right across from the town square.  They had the most amazing wood fired bagels and pizza!  Not to mention hand scooped milk shakes for an afternoon treat.  We ate there so much (Lynn would run across the street and bring food back to the booth) that when I was sorting receipts from our trip I noticed a common guest name on each ticket.  :)  Cute Cowboy!  Ha...that gave me the giggles...and made me love that little town even more!  The owner also has a goat farm and used goat cheese in his restaurant.  There was even a local dairy in town that sold raw milk.  What a peaceful, self sustaining, quaint little community!  We can't wait to go back!

Just a dandelion...

I have spent the past two weeks preparing for a show that took place yesterday and today, right before Mother's Day.  As we all know, most men wait until that last minute to shop....so I was brainstorming on what would be a "perfect" last minute Mother's Day gift to offer at the craft show.  What came to mind was a tradition that started when I finally had some money of my own....Flowers!  Each year I have purchased flowers for my mom for Mother's Day. Not the kind that go in a vase and die in two weeks, but those can can been enjoyed throughout the summer and some for years to come.  I always look forward to planting flowers with my mom or if that isn't possible, seeing what so has done. :0)  Her yard and beautiful containers have always been something I have admired.  If it wasn't for her creative talent, not to mention a bit of a green thumb, I would not be doing what I do today.  Thank you for sharing the flower tradition with me MOM!  I love you!.....and wish you a HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!
Elsie decided to share in this tradition...at the age of 3 1/2 this little girl...blew my mind.  She was playing outside yesterday and came running up..."Mama, I have a prize for you," she said.  This is what she gave me...
Just a dandelion!
and a wonderful hug, a Happy Mother's Day, and an I Love You!
What a wonderful gift!  More than I could ever ask for!  As my eyes misted up...I smiled at her and hugged her back!  What an amazing little girl...she to has a bit of that love for flowers and creative edge passed down from one generation to another.

I hope that everyone enjoys their Mother's Day traditions this weekend....and if you don't have any.  I will gladly share mine with you!  After all...all it takes is...just a dandelion!

The Learning Curve

Wow!  Who knew that this would be such a challenge.  I now understand why Moddy's Bumbadee hasn't had a website or a blog, until now that is!  I feel like I am way behind on this technology thing.  Anyone out there teaching Blog 101?  Between backgrounds not showing up and buttons overlapping, I am not sure I will ever have this all figured out! :) Bare with me and enjoy "the learning curve".
So...for those of you who asked for it, here it is! Look for future posts with photos of current projects, items for sale, and upcoming shows.
COMING SOON: Moddy's Bumbadee will be up and running on FB.
